Burst Radio is the Sound of Bristol University

Hello, and welcome to the good ship Burst Radio. When I say ship we're obviously not a pirate station (unless I've not paid the licenses yet!) but we are in fact Bristol University's Student Radio Station. Firstly, thank you for visiting our new website; due to many setbacks, it has been a long time coming. You've got two options: you can either sit back and enjoy the flow by clicking on the listen now box, or explore the site, getting more hands-on with Burst. Maybe you're a prospective DJ, a budding Producer or a local or national business looking to work with us. In any case, if you hear something you like or feel you could add something to the mix, why not get in touch, and get involved? Many students have gone on from Burst to make a career in Broadcasting, maybe most notably Marcus Brigstocke as well as some of our old producers who now work at Radio 1 and Radio 2, on the Jeremy Vine show. Burst isn't just about presenting or producing though; there are loads of ways to get involved behind the mic. You could help review albums, gigs and new artists with the Music Team, help with marketing and branding the station, or even get stuck in organising events. If you are a business who wants to know what we can do for you, please check out advertising and sponsorship section.

If you guys have any questions, please use the contact form to get in touch!

Enjoy,
Will Wilkin
Station Manager

Keep Up To Date With Burst

  • Welcome, 2012!I hope your heads are banging as proof that you all waved goodbye to 2011 in style. Aww 2011 those were the days. The days of protests, princesses and planking. 2011 was also Burst's biggest year yet. We had a record high influx of new members, record high number of applications and we turned away a record breaking 3rd of them. This led to the highest quality of shows and, you guessed it, record breaking listening figures. If we saw a record we broke it. Sometimes we got so in to the record breaking we broke actual vinyl records.
  • Christmas comes early at Burst RadioIt has been a brilliant term for Burst and we plan to round it off in style. So you are all invited to the Burst Christmas Party this Wednesday at Basement 45.
  • Got something to say?Clear your brunch plans because this Saturday is the BURST AGM and your attendance is essential.
